Sorry, it's time to say goodbye.

Dear Dmail Network users, partners, and community members:

First of all, we would like to express our most sincere gratitude to all the users who have supported Dmail Network throughout this journey. After a long period of evaluation, strategic transformation, and internal discussions, we regret to announce that Dmail Network will gradually cease all services starting from May 15, 2026.

Since the project's inception, we have always held the ideal of “truly decentralized email” and strived to provide users with a communication experience that protects privacy and is free from control by any single entity. However, during the past 5 years, we have encountered difficulties and challenges far beyond our expectations:

  1. The costs of decentralized infrastructure in terms of bandwidth, storage, and computing are extremely high. This expenditure has long occupied a large portion of the team’s budget, making it impossible for the project to achieve healthy and sustainable operations at the business level. These costs rise exponentially with user growth.
  2. We experimented with various paid models and commercialization paths, but we were never able to find a clear, sustainable scenario that users were willing to pay for.
  3. The token has never developed a clear and large-scale real usage scenario, and the economic model has failed to form a closed loop.
  4. The sudden cooling of the crypto market led us to misjudge the future of decentralized social networking, and we were not prepared with contingency plans.
  5. Affected by the above factors, core team members left one after another. The remaining team no longer has the capacity to maintain and iterate such a high-cost decentralized infrastructure.

After seeing the transformations of Lens, Friend.tech and etc., we had actually anticipated this result, but we were unwilling to accept it or believe that five years of effort would come to an end. However, one must face reality—even if it is not the one you hoped for. After multiple rounds of financing failed, acquisition attempts fell through, and the funding was about to break, we had no choice but to decide to shut down operations. This is the outcome we least wanted to see, but it is also the most responsible choice for our users, the community, and the remaining team.

User Data Migration and Export

To ensure the security and portability of your data, before the official shutdown, we have launched a mail export tool and account cancellation feature. Users can export their email content to other platforms such as Gmail. After completing the export, you can request account cancellation. At that time, all your data—including emails, NFT domains, points, associated social addresses, etc.—will be completely deleted, leaving no trace behind.

Please make sure to complete the mail export before May 15, 2026.
After the shutdown date, all nodes will stop running, and emails will no longer be accessible.

How to export emails:

  • Log into https://mail.dmail.ai/inbox
  • Go to Inbox → Select the Mails you want → Export

How to cancel/delete account:

  • Log into https://mail.dmail.ai/
  • Click the address in the upper right corner → Cancel/Delete account

Gratitude to the Community

We sincerely apologize to all dmailers, developers, investors, and partners who have accompanied us along the way. Thank you for your trust, support, and understanding. It was you who allowed this once-bold dream of decentralized email to reach today. If you see this announcement and happen to have friends who are (or were) users of the Dmail DApp, please kindly inform them.

If conditions allow in the future, we hope to relaunch in a more mature form. But for now, we must bow to reality. If possible, we hope the crypto market will pay more attention to products rather than just prices.

May everyone’s inbox remain forever clean.
